The well-established SAVENERGY energy exhibition is taking place for the eleventh time at the International Trade Fair in Nicosia between 18th and 20th of September 2015. Entry is free. The aim of the exhibition is to promote the usage by individuals and industry of renewable energy and to improve the health and cleanliness of the environment. Foremost in most consumers’ minds is the prospect of saving money on their fuel bills and information gathered at the exhibition is designed to help with that. Cyprus enjoys a warm Mediterranean climate in summer and winter with 2700 to 3500 hours of sunshine per year on average. Even in December the coastal areas, especially Limassol, receive 180 hours of sunshine making it a popular and ideal winter holiday location enabling visitors from northern Europe to take short or long winter breaks and make considerable savings on their heating costs at home. Harnessing the power of the sun gives the possibility of great renewable energy generation using photovoltaic systems, solar water heating systems, solar swimming pool heaters and more. The deputy energy minister said that Cyprus had exceeded the target for renewable energy as set by the European Union Directive during 2014. The Ministry of Energy is also promoting initiatives for energy saving for householders and commerce with financial assistance from the European Union Structural Fund.
Also to be featured in the exhibition will be electric and hybrid cars, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, wind and biomasses generated electricity systems, insulation products as well as know how to minimise wastage of energy, low energy light bulbs and more.
Running concurrently with SAVENERGY 2015 the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (O.E.B.) are staging their eighth ENVIROTEC Exhibition which features products and systems aimed at protecting the environment and to save water and improve water quality. Water generators come into this category and there are several models on the market producing pure drinking quality water from the air, thus reducing reliance on the municipal water supply and possibilities of contamination.
Visiting hours for both exhibitions are as follows:
Friday 18th September 2015 – 16.00 hrs – 22.00 hrs
Saturday 19th September 2015 – 15.00 hrs – 22.00 hrs
