It is important to note that the resumption of businesses and activities will always be adjusted in strict accordance with the terms and conditions specified by the Ministries of Health and Labour.
On the 4th of May, restrictions in the manufacturing sector and in all related business activities supporting this sector have been lifted. All businesses in retail trade have started operating, except commercial centres and big department stores. All employees have returned to their work except those belonging to vulnerable groups and those who are caring for children up to the age of 15 until schools open, who are expected to carry out their work duties from home where possible. Public servants have returned to work making it possible for the courts to convene.
Regarding personal liberties, the number of permitted movements each day has been increased to three while the curfew remains between 10pm and 6am. The exercise of religion is permitted in churches and other places of worship provides that there are no more than 10 persons present while the decree on weddings, christenings and funerals remains in force. The use of open space athletic installations is open to high performance athletes who are included in the records of the Cyprus Olympic Committee.
On May 11th school graduates of state and private schools in secondary education will return to school and education through teleconferencing will continue for all other educational levels until the full operation of school units.
On May 18th training of team sports will be permitted in open spaces.
On May 21st all restriction of the movement of citizens will be lifted as visits to parks, open space playgrounds, squares, marinas etc., will be permitted, provides no more than 10 person are gathered at any time. On that day, hairdressing salons, barber shops and beauty centres will resume operation. All public schools will reopen and the school year will be extended until June 26th. Ports will also begin full operation excluding the disembarkation of passengers from cruise ships.

It is also noted that the Government’s plan of action is being implemented for the gradual repatriation of students and other Cypriot citizens who were stranded overseas as a result of the measures taken.
